For a long time, João Pessoa was considered the ugly duckling of the northeastern coastline. Now, the capital of Paraíba is showcasing a renewed image as an economic growth hub, attracting companies and people in search of new opportunities.
Clean energy companies expect increased demand with the growth of the Cabo Branco hub. This is the case of the Ecoparque João Pessoa, a biogas production center from waste, with an installed capacity of 5.7 MW, supplying energy to approximately 21,000 homes from the processing of 60,000 tons of solid waste.
— We plan new investments, especially in the production of biomethane and fuel from waste, as well as recycling sorting — says Milton Pilão, CEO of Orizon Valorização de Resíduos, which manages the ecopark.
